The second edition of the Cameroon Artificial Intelligence Days (JCIA) came to a close on this April 24, 2025, after a spectacular three-day event. The conference, which started on April 22, 2025, concluded at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) and featured a range of activities, including keynote speeches, presentations, and award ceremonies.
The event brought together experts from various fields, including diplomacy, healthcare, education, and trade, to discuss the benefits and challenges of artificial intelligence. One of the main objectives of the conference was to promote innovation and encourage people from all walks of life to explore the potential of AI.
During the award ceremony, seven young entrepreneurs were recognized for their outstanding projects in AI. Among the winners were three women and four men, including Gwade Steve, who won two awards for his individual and group projects. Miriam Ebenye, another winner, received an award for her project Ndaab, which aims to preserve Cameroon’s linguistic heritage. The project currently supports six languages and is working to develop more.
« I didn’t expect to receive an award today, » said Miriam Ebenye. « I’m grateful to the artificial intelligence association for this initiative. I want to emphasize that we’re a team, and I couldn’t have done it without the others. »
The third edition of the Cameroon Artificial Intelligence Conference is scheduled to take place in Douala in April 2026
